We have discovered that thru the infusion and use of heavy water (D2O) in our formulations that we can eliminate the frizzies and reduce the volume of the hair. Our result is hair that has increased highlights, shine and healthy appearance while exhibiting newly found tangle-free silky texture and yet retains the ability to be styled in any manner the client wishes. The client now has all the benefits of hair with a wave pattern while none of the unmanageable, frizzy, frustrating problems. We call it "Keep Some Curl, Loose the Frizz".
The hair 'frizzes' because of an abundance of vacated hydroxyl bonds, which typically occurs in curly hair but can also occur in hair without a wave pattern. These hydroxyl bonds become 'over active' when the humidity increases and 'tighten' up creating hair that is 'frizzy' and very voluminous - completely unmanageable. During the FrizzCure process, we artificially 'activate' these hydroxyl bonds thru what we have coined as Molecular Conversion Technology. This process open the cuticle of the hair, 'overcharges' the hydroxyl bonds so they are exposed and ready to accept additional molecules, and then we permanently attach an additional neutron from the D2O to the hydroxyl bond that in effect 'seals' is so it will not react with any changes in climactic conditions.
Here's how it works: D2O is an isotope of H2O (water) and is heavier by about 10% than a normal water molecule due to an additional neutron in its structure. It is this additional neutron's permanent attachment to the vacated hydroxyl bond, which allows it to be 'neutralized' so it is non-reactive with humidity and therefore cures the 'frizzy' problem. D20 naturally occurs in approximately 1 in every 4500 H2O molecules, but with the use of geothermal energy (we are located at basically 'ground zero' for geothermal energy in the USA near the Rocky Mountains), special crystal filtration, and light refraction we can increase that ratio to 1:20.
