Dear Valued Guests,


I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you as the new owner of Pileggi on the Square Salon. Joan Pileggi built the salon into a local institution, a sanctuary for restoration and rejuvenation. What’s more, it’s home to some of the top stylists and educators in the region. From a historic, four-story townhouse amid the energy and vitality of Center City Philadelphia, Pileggi on the Square has provided award-winning salon and spa services for nearly 40 years using the industry's premier products and techniques to deliver exceptional service and stunning results to our Guests. I couldn't be more grateful and proud to take the reins of this incredible salon as we venture into the new post-COVID world.
 

I have been in the beauty industry for nearly 25 years. After attending Rizzieri Aveda school in New Jersey, I worked at 2 top salons, including Rizzieri, for nearly a decade working my way up from salon assistant to Creative Director. In October 2006 I opened Verde Salon in chic Collingswood, New Jersey. As Verde went on to win multiple “Best of Philly” and “Best of South Jersey” awards, I parlayed this recognition, my passion for the industry, and my expertise into becoming a regular contributor to the lifestyle show Talk Philly on Philadelphia’s CBS3 for its entire 5 year run. I was also sought after by national and local television shows, guest hosting on QVC and appearing on the nationally syndicated Better TV series, Fox’s Good Day Philadelphia, and NBC Philadelphia 10! show many times.

 

While this current climate of a pandemic presents numerous and unprecedented challenges to a small business, I feel confident that with the talent and dedication of our core team of James Denithorne, Lydia Jesunathon, Peter LeRay, and Kerrianne Swenson we have a strong foundation to continue and expand the tradition of Pileggi providing the ultimate in guest experience along with the award-winning technical skills you have come to expect from Pileggi stylists.


As I told the team at our first meeting about a month ago, my commitment to preserving the history of Pileggi as a salon and Joan as a formidable business woman is strong. Having grown up in Philadelphia I have known the name Pileggi for almost 30 years. My mom and myself were both clients before I became a stylist. Although I now own 2 salons, they each have their own unique personality and vibe, and I have no intention of duplicating Verde. While there will be changes along the way, most will be behind the scenes in our backend operations, with some visual updates, and product updates mixed in.


I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible when you come into the salon. Along with our incredible stylists, you, our loyal Guests have been a big part of the success and longevity of our salon. While I won't personally be working behind the chair at Pileggi, I do plan on spending a lot of time there.
